Welcome to Gilden Woods Portage! Our daycare and preschool center is located at 1518 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002. We are conveniently located near E Centre Ave and Portage Rd, making us a trusted choice for families throughout Portage, Kalamazoo, Vicksburg, Schoolcraft, and Mattawan.
Our early education programs include Infants, Toddlers, Twos, Preschool, Pre-K, and Before- and After-School Clubs. We offer flexible scheduling options including full-time, part-time, and Summer Camp. We also offer the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Michigan's free Pre-K program for eligible four-year-olds. For school-agers, we provide bus transportation to and from 12th St. Elementary, Lake Center Elementary, and Portage Central Elementary. Children can also enjoy a variety of enrichment programs such as Music, Spanish, and Soccer, which encourage creativity, language development, movement, and confidence.
Our teaching team brings over 75 years of combined experience and holds strong early-childhood qualifications, including CPR and First Aid Certifications, Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and Bachelor’s Degree in Family Child Development.
Families value the warm, welcoming environment we’ve built, where everyone feels part of a caring community.
